The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission has released the notification for recruitment of Stenographer Grade-I / Personal Assistant and Junior Assistant in the subordinate courts of Uttarakhand High Court for a total of 398 vacancies. Below, we have shared the breakdown of the same.

They have released the notification on June 16, 2026, and the window to apply is available from 22 June 2026 and going to last until 6 July 2026 at https://sssc.uk.gov.in/. If you made any mistake in your application form, you will have an option to make corrections from 8 to 10 July 2026 by logging into web-portal.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for recruitment for any of the advertised positions, it is mandatory that you meet eligibility criteria. Refer to table below to check the post-wise details.
Junior Assistant
- You have pursued a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a UGC-recognized university.
- Additionally, you have typing speed on the computer for Hindi and English with 25 words per minute and 30 words per minute, respectively.
- Furthermore, you should be below 21 years and above 35 years as of January 01, 2026.
Stenographer Grade-I / Personal Assistant
- You meet all the requirements needed for Junior Assistant.
- Additionally, you have shorthand speed in English and Hindi with 80 words per minute.
The upper age relaxation is applicable for 5 years for OBC, SC and ST; if you are above the age of 35 years and belong to any of the criteria, you may claim it.
Application Fee
The payment of the application fee is mandatory to apply. The payable amount for Unreserved and Other Backward Class is ₹300, and the same for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Caste, Economically Weaker Section, and Person with Benchmark Disability is ₹150. You may deposit it using debit card, credit card, NET banking, or UPI.
Selection Process
The selection process for this recruitment consists of two stages for each position. Firstly, the UKSSSC will conduct the written examination, after which they will conduct the second stage that is Typing Test for Junior Assistant; for Stenographer Grade-I / Personal Assistant, it also includes a shorthand test. Then, they will prepare final selection list based on written examination score.
Exam Date & Pattern
The UKSSSC is all set to conduct the written examination on August 23, 2026 with a time duration of 2 hours 30 minutes. In which, they will ask a total number of 140 objective-type questions from the following subjects:
- General Hindi
- General English
- General Knowledge
- Current Affairs
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Uttarakhand General Knowledge
The commission has confirmed that the written examination will have provision of negative marking of ⅓ marks, meaning they will deduct 0.25 mark for each incorrect response; but they are yet to confirm whether they will conduct it in offline mode using the OMR sheet or online via CBT. It is certain that the medium is going to be bilingual, that is, English and Hindi.
