Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria to apply for the HAL DT & MT Recruitment 2026 is available in terms of educational qualification and age limit. Refer to the table to check if you are eligible for any position.

The age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC or ST. There’s an additional age relaxation for 10 years. If you are above the age of 28 years, you can claim the age relaxation by providing required documents.
Application Fee
To apply for the HAL Recruitment 2026 for any position, you have to pay the application fee. The payable amount is 500 rupees for the candidates who belong to the Unreserved, Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer), and Economically Weaker Section. Individuals who belong to SC, ST, or PwBD and internal HAL candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee.
Selection Process
The selection process for the HAL MT and DT Recruitment 2026 consists mainly of two stages, which are a computer-based test and a personal interview. The HAL will prepare the final selection list based on individuals’ performance in the first and second stages with a weightage of 85:15. You will be shortlisted for appointment only if your score meets the cut-off marks for your category.
Exam Date & Pattern
The HAL will conduct the CBT examination on 5 and 6 September 2026 across the country. Notably, the admit card for the same is all set to be available for download from August 20, 2026. They will conduct it in 2 hours and 30 minutes, asking a total of 160 objective-type questions from three different sections as per the table.
