Who can apply for FMGE 2026?
It is mandatory to meet the eligibility requirement to apply for the FMGE October 2026. The first and foremost requirement for the candidate is that he or she is an Indian citizen or overseas citizen of India; and the second is that the candidate must have passed the MBBS examination. Is there any application fee to apply for FMGE 2026?
Yes, the payment of the application fee to apply for the FMGE is mandatory. The payable amount for all the candidates is ₹3,940.68 with 18% GST, meaning the total payable amount is ₹4,650. The application fee can be paid using any online payment gateway such as debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.
Notably, the application fee is non-refundable. After paying it, you want to get a refund under any circumstances even if you decided not to participate in the examination. The deadline to pay the application fee is set as September 25, 2026, by 11:55 midnight.
What is the FMGE October 2026 exam date and pattern?
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has officially confirmed that the FMGE in October 2026 will take place on the 31st of October 2026. The examination is all set to take place in the CBT mode. It consists of parts: part A will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and part B from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM in the English medium.
Each part will have a total number of 150 multiple-choice questions with a time duration of 2.5 hours, meaning the total time duration of the examination will be 5 hours. Each question will carry the weightage of one mark, and there will be no provision of negative marking, which means no mark will be deducted for the incorrect response.
Part A will have questions from preclinical and paraclinical subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, and forensic medicine, but Part B will have questions from clinical subjects, including medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, ENT, and other clinical subjects.
