RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 for 6565 Vacancies, Apply Now, Last Date Coming 

The Railway Recruitment Board has released the Centralised Employment Notice no. 02 by 2026 on June 30, 2026, and invited candidates to apply for the recruitment of Technician Grade I Signal and Technician Grade III under the Indian Railways.

Notably, the window to apply for the recruitment has been started with the notification release, which is all set to be available until July 29, 2026, by 11:59 pm. If you are interested and eligible, you can apply through https://rrbapply.gov.in/.

They have released the notification for recruitment against a total number of 6565 vacancies, including 6242 for Technician Grade III and 324 for Technician Grade I signal. The breakdown of the vacancies is shared inside the table below.

To apply for the Technician Grade I Signal, you must have a BSc in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Instrumentation; or a three-year Engineering Diploma or Engineering Degree from a government-recognized institution. 

If you are interested in the position of Technician Grade III, then you can apply for the same if you have passed the Class 10 examination and have obtained an ITI certificate in the respective trade from NCVT or SCVT or a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) in the relevant trade. 

In addition to educational qualifications, it is mandatory that you fall under the age criteria too. To apply for either position, you shouldn’t be younger than 18 years, but the upper age limit for Technician Grade I Signal is 33 years, and for Technician Grade III, it is 30 years. The date to calculate age is July 1, 2026.

If you are above the upper age limit and belong to the reserved category, you can claim age relaxation and apply. Notably, the age relaxation is 3 years for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC and ST. There is additional age relaxation for 10 years for PwBD.

To submit the application form for any of the technician positions, you have to pay the application fee of 500 rupees. Notably, the payable for all female aspirants and male individuals belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD is only 250 rupees. 

If you are male and belong to UR, OBC, or EWS, you will get 80% of the paid application fee, i.e., 400 rupees, as a refund, and all other candidates will get a full refund. To get the refund, it is mandatory that you sit in the computer-based test examination, the only stage of the selection process.

The board hasn’t yet announced the date for the CBT examination, but there’s a high speculation that they will hold it in late 2026. You can sit in this examination only if the RBB has accepted your application form. They will accept it only if you have provided all the details accurately, so make sure you apply for the recruitment by taking time.
