On July 10, 2026, the Karnataka Examination Authority released a notification on behalf of the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society for the recruitment of teachers in the KREIS-run residential institutions against a total number of 1,087 vacancies, out of 767 for RCP and 320 for KK. Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age limit for the KREIS Recruitment 2026 are shared below.
Educational Qualification
- Kannada Teacher: Bachelor’s degree with Kannada as a subject + B.Ed.
- English Teacher: Bachelor’s degree with English as a subject + B.Ed.
- Hindi Teacher: Bachelor’s degree with Hindi as a subject + B.Ed.
- Mathematics Teacher: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics + B.Ed.
- Science Teacher: Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, or Biology + B.Ed.
- Social Science Teacher: Bachelor’s degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or related Social Science subjects + B.Ed.
- Computer Science Teacher: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications or equivalent + B.Ed.
- Physical Education Teacher: Bachelor of Physical Education.
- Graduate Drawing Teacher: Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Visual Arts.
- Diploma Drawing Teacher: Diploma in Drawing or Commercial Art.
For the position that requires a B.Ed. degree, a candidate who is interested in applying has also passed the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test or Central Teacher Eligibility Test for Paper 2.
Age Limit
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 45 years
The cut-off date to calculate the age is August 13, 2026. If you are above the age of 46 years but belong to the reserved category, you can claim the age relaxation by providing the requested document. The upper age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for Category 2A/2B/3A/3B and 5 years for SC/ST/Category-1.
Application Fee
To apply for the KREIS Teacher Recruitment 2026, the payment of the non-refundable application fee is mandatory. The amount you need to pay in order to submit an application form depends on your category.

Selection Process
The selection process for the KREIS School Teacher Recruitment 2026 includes a Kannada Language Test, only for the candidates who haven’t studied Kannada as the first or second language in their Secondary School Leaving Certificate or Pre-University Course; a Competitive Written Examination; and Document Verification. The KEA hasn’t confirmed the date for the KLT or CWE; we are expecting that they will conduct it probably in Q4 of 2026.
The Karnataka Examination Authority will conduct the written examination in offline mode using the OMR sheet. In this examination, they will ask a total number of 200 objective-type questions, whose breakdown is shared below.

To solve both papers, you are all set to get a time duration of 3.5 hours. Each question is set to carry a weightage of 1 mark, and in case of incorrect answers, they will deduct ⅓ mark. The medium of the examination is set to be both English and Kannada.
