CSIR ASO Eligibility Criteria 2026
To apply for the recruitment for any position of ASO under the CSIR, you must be one among the non-recommended candidates of the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Additionally, your age shouldn’t be above 33 years as of July 13, 2026.
If you are above the age of 33 years, you can claim the age relaxation, which is 3 years for Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer) and 5 years for Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribes, and an additional 10 years for persons with benchmark disability.
CSIR ASO Application Fee 2026
In order to submit an application for the CSIR Assistant Section Officer Recruitment 2026, the payment of the application fee is mandatory. If you are made and belong to the Unreserved, Other Backward Class, or Economically Weaker Section, you have to deposit the amount of 500 rupees.
Notably, there is no application fee for female aspirants and male candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, and Ex-Servicemen. If your payment of the application fee is mandatory for you, then make sure you deposit it by the due date.
CSIR ASO Selection Process 2026
The selection process for the recruitment of ASO under the CSIR consists of only two stages: they are shortlisting and a computer proficiency test. Notably, they are going to shortlist 5 candidates for each vacancy based on the aggregate score of the UPSC CSE 2024 mains and the personal interview.
If you are shortlisted, you have to sit in the second stage. The CSIR will conduct it with a duration of an hour with a weightage of 100 marks to evaluate word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint. It is qualifying in nature, whose minimum passing marks are
