Punjab Lecturer Cadre Recruitment 2026 for 1013 Vacancies, Latest Updates Here!

The Punjab Education Recruitment Directorate will soon release the notification for the recruitment of Lecturers in senior secondary government schools for a total number of 1,013 vacancies, including 829 regular and 184 backlog positions, whose breakdown is shared inside the table below.

Notably, the application form for the Punjab Lecturer Cadre Recruitment 2026 will be available online shortly after the notification is released. The window to apply is all set to be available for four weeks to give candidates the time to arrange all documents and submit an application an error-free application.

Eligibility Criteria

If you are interested in getting appointed for the position of Lecturer in any government school of Punjab, you can apply if you meet the eligibility criteria for the specific subject.

• You have pursued a master’s degree in any of the above-mentioned subjects from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission.
• Additionally, you have pursued a two-year Bachelor of Education from an institution recognised by the National Council of Teacher Education.
• Furthermore, you should be younger than 18 years and older than 37 years.

The upper age relaxation for this recruitment is applicable for 5 years, if you are above 37 years, you can still apply.

Application Fee

In order to apply for Punjab Lecturer Cadre Recruitment 2026, you have to deposit the application fee using a debit card, credit card, NET banking or UPI. As of now, the fee details aren’t available in the public domain. The  Education Department, Government of Punjab will release it with the notification.

Selection Process 

The selection process for the Punjab Lecturer Cadre Recruitment 2026 consists of two stages: a written examination and an interview. The Punjab Education Recruitment Directorate will conduct the first stage for all the applicants; after the result for the same, shortlisted candidates will have to participate in the second stage.

Following the interview, the concerned authorities will prepare the final selection list for appointment based on candidates’ performance in the written examination and interview and then all those who have been shortlisted for appointment will get the appointment letter via post to join their duties.

Written Examination Date & Pattern 

The Punjab Education Recruitment Directorate may announce the date for the written examination with the release of the notification. If they don’t make it public with the notification, then they will release it after accepting the application form from candidates. Notably, the expected date for the same is the third quarter of 2026, meaning it may take place by September.

The exam pattern for the written examination is still pending; the Directorate will release the notification. It is expected that they will conduct it in offline mode with a time duration of 2 hours, in which there may be 150 objective-type questions.
