The result will carry the subject-wise and total score, passing status, and many other details. Notably, only those students are going to be declared successful in the examination whose score in each paper will meet or exceed the minimum requirement, which is 20 marks in theory and 15 marks in the practical component.

Note that if any student fails to meet the passing criteria even in a single paper, he/she will be declared unsuccessful in the examination. Once the result is out, one can check it by going through the step-by-step instructions available below.

  • Go to the TN result portal at https://tnresults.nic.in/.
  • Click on the option related to ‘SSLC Examination 2026 Result’ and get redirected to the next page.
  • Enter registration number and date of birth, and click on the Get Marks button.

The result that is available on the portal will a provisional marksheet; students will get the original copy of the same from the admitted school. Notably, it is received within four weeks after the result, so there’s high speculation that students will get the original marksheet by late June 2026.

Students who fail the examination shouldn’t be disheartened. They have two options: the first is to sit in the supplementary examination that will take place in June 2026, and the second is to sit in the annual examination in 2027. Students who failed in only one or two should go with the supply, but those who failed in three or more subjects are recommended to do hard preparation to shine in the next annual examination.

What if a student isn’t satisfied with the result?

After the result, if any student isn’t satisfied with it, he or she can have three options. The first among them is to apply for a scanned copy of the answer sheet, meaning if any candidate thinks that he/she isn’t allotted the marks properly, he/she can apply for getting the scanned copy of the answer sheet of a particular one by paying the fee of 265 rupees.

The second option is re-totalling; it means a student can get his/her marks recounted by paying the fee of 205 rupees to ensure that there is any error in totalling. Their opinion is revaluation, which most students choose. If any student applies for it, his/her answer sheet is rechecked by another examiner; it can result in his/her having the same score, but both increase and decrease are possible. For this, a payment of 505 rupees is required for each subject.

What next after the result release?

Following the result announcement, qualified students will be able to take admission for Class 11. They can also have another way to make their career. One can take admission to an ITI trade certificate course and learn some skill or may directly apply for the recruitment that is matriculation level-based, such as SSC MTS, SSC GD, and RRB Group D.
