Candidates who want to get appointed to the positions of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) under the Indian Railways took part in the stage 1 CBT examination, which was conducted on 19, 20, and 25 February 2026. It was held against a total of 2585 vacancies, against which a huge number of students have participated.
If you are among those candidates who have participated in the stage 1 CBT examination, you are hereby notified that the RRBs announced the result as a merit list PDF on 13 May 2026, as per reports, which will carry the roll number of qualified candidates. Note that the result for the different zones of RRB is made public separately; not only the merit list PDF, but also the post-and-category-wise cut-off marks PDF is made public.
You will find your roll number on the merit list only if you have passed the examination. To be declared successful in the first stage of the selection process for the positions of JE, DMS, and CMA under the Indian Railways, it is mandatory that you meet or exceed the cut-off marks in the stage 1 CBT examination. It is not pre-decided; the RRB will determine it and make it public with the result.

How to check the RRB JE CBT-1 result 2026?
To check the RRB JE Stage 1 CBT, go through the step-by-step instructions available below.
- Go to the official website of the Railway Recruitment Control Board at https://rrcb.gov.in/.
- You will see the list of all the zonal railway recruitment boards on the homepage; click the one for which you have applied for the recruitment.
- Find and click on the option that reads ‘CEN 05/2025’ and get redirected to another webpage.
- Find and click on the option that reads ‘Result of 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1) and Shortlisting of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT’ and download the merit list PDF.
- Open the result file and search for your roll number to check that you have passed the examination.
To download the cut-off marks, you have to go through the same above-mentioned instructions, but have to click on ‘Normalised Cut-Off Marks for Candidates Shortlisted for 2nd Stage CBT’.
A few days after the stage 1 CBT examination result as a merit list PDF, the RRBs will also activate a direct link with the anchor text ‘Link for viewing Scorecard, Question Paper & Responses of CBT-1’. Using the same link, you will be able to download it and check your score by providing your login credentials.
What happens after the RRB JE Result 2026 announcement?
After the release of the stage 1 CBT examination result, qualified candidates will be called for the second stage of the selection process, that is, the stage 2 CBT examination. It is expected that the Railway Recruitment Boards will conduct it most probably in July or August 2026; however, the date is yet to be confirmed by the concerned authorities.
