The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education conducted the diploma examination for the April 2026 session across the state at various examination centres. The board conducted the regular examination for the 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters and the arrear examination for the 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters.

After the successful conclusion of the examination, the board takes approximately 4 weeks to evaluate the answer sheet, prepare the result and make it public. For the examination concluded by late April 2026, the result is announced on 22 May 2026.

TNDTE diploma April 2026 examination passing criteria 

To pass the diploma examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education, you are required to get at least a 40% score in a paper as an aggregate, but it is mandatory that you receive at least 30 marks out of 75 in the external theory paper and 10 marks out of 25 in the internal assignment. 

It is important to understand that not meeting either of the components results in being declared unsuccessful in the diploma examination, which means even if your aggregate score is 40 marks or above and you have not secured the minimum requirement in the component, you will not pass it.

After the announcement of the Tamil Nadu diploma April 2026 examination result, if you are not satisfied with the score obtained in the subject, you can apply for the revaluation of the answer sheet.
