RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 Exam Date Announced: Check CBT-1 Date, Vacancies & Exam Pattern

The Railway Recruitment Board has officially announced the CBT-1 exam date for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2026, the application form for which was filled between May 15 and June 26, 2026. Candidates who have applied for recruitment of ALP under the Indian Railways are hereby notified that the first stage of the selection process is all set to take place in November 2026 across the country. 

Overview

Exam Date

The selection process for the ALP recruitment under the Indian Railways consists of three stages, which are CBT-1, CBT-2, and CBAT. The date for the first stage is officially confirmed; the Railway Recruitment Board has officially confirmed that the CBT-1 will take place from 3 to 5 November 2026, but the timing is still unconfirmed. It will be available on the admit card, which carries other crucial information too, such as exam day, center, etc.

Admit Card 

The admit card for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 computer-based test is officially confirmed; the RRB will release the admit card exactly four days before the exam date. For the examination schedule for 3, 4, and 5 November 2026, the exam will take place on 30, 31, and 1 November, respectively. It will be available under the candidate’s login, which will be downloadable via login credentials.

Number of Vacancies 

The Railway Recruitment Board announced the number of vacancies for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 with the release of the notification. There are a total number of 11,127 vacancies, whose breakdown is shared inside the table below.

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 are given below in terms of educational qualification and age limit. Refer to the listed points to see who was eligible to apply for this job opportunity.

Educational Qualification

• 10th + ITI, or NTC, or Act Apprenticeship; or
• 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering; or
• Bachelor’s of Technology in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering.

Age Limit 

• 18 to 30 years as of July 1, 2026.
• The age relaxation of 3 years is applicable for OBC-NCL and 5 SC and ST.
• There’s an additional age relaxation for 10 years for PwBD.

Application Fee

To apply for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2026, one of the key requirements is application fee payment. The payable amounts were different from one another depending on category. These details can be found from the table available below. 

Candidates who have applied for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 will get the refund of the application fee. Those who paid ₹250 will get a full refund, and those who paid ₹500 will receive half of the refund. To get the refund, it is mandatory for a candidate to sit in the CBT-1.

Selection Process 

The selection process for the RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 has three stages; the first two stages are the computer-based test, and the last one is the computer-based aptitude test. The railway recruitment board will prepare the final selection list based on candidates’ performance in the last two stages with a weightage of 70:30.

Exam Pattern 

The CBT-1 and CBT-1 will be held online using the computer-based test mode. The first stage will take place with a 60-minute time duration and the second stage with 150 minutes, including 90 minutes and 60 minutes for Part A and Part B, respectively. The negative marking is applicable to both stages; it is ⅓ of the question’s weightage. The question distribution is shared inside the table below.
