Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the PA and SPA recruitment under the Delhi High Court, a candidate must have purchased a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a UGC-recognised university as of October 5, 2026, and the age shouldn’t be below 18 years and above 32 years as of January 1, 2026. In addition to these, basic computer knowledge is mandatory.
Candidates who are above the upper age limit but meet the educational qualification requirement may apply by claiming the age relaxation of 3 years if below OBC-NCL or 5 years of SC or SC.
Application Fee
To submit an application form for the Delhi High Court SPA and PA Recruitment 2026, a candidate is required to pay the application fee of ₹1,500 if he or she belongs to UR, OBC (CL & NCL) or EWS, but the individuals who fall under the SC, ST, PwBD or Ex-SM category need to deposit only ₹1,300.
To deposit the application fee, payment methods such as debit card, card credit, NET banking or UPI can be used. The deadline to deposit it is the same as the application form submission deadline.
Selection Process
There are a total of four stages for the Delhi High Court SPA and PA Recruitment 2026, which are the English Typing Test, the English Shorthand Test, the Main Descriptive Examination, and the Interview. Details about each of these stages are:
- English Typing Test: It will take place with a 10-minute time duration, where candidates have to type with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute (w.p.m.) on the computer.
- English Shorthand Test: For SPA, the dictation speed of 110 w.p.m. (550 words dictated in 5 minutes) is required; and for PA, the dictation speed of 100 w.p.m. (500 words dictated in 5 minutes) is needed; and candidates will get 45 minutes for computer transcription. The weightage for SPA and PA is 120 marks with 27.5 mistakes and 100 marks with 25 mistakes, respectively. It also has a negative marking provision; for a full mistake, they will deduct 4 marks, but for half, only 2. Each candidate is set to get 2 attempts.
- Main Descriptive Examination: It will be held with a time duration of 120 minutes (2 hours), whose weightage will be 100 marks, including 40 for easy writing, 15 for letting writing, 25 for grammar and passage comprehension, and 10 marks for each (Hindi to English and English to Hindi).
- Interview: It will take place in face-to-face mode and will last for a few minutes. The total weight is 15 marks.
The first stage is qualifying in nature, and the last three are scoring, meaning for the final selection list the score of the English Shorthand Test, Main Descriptive Examination, and Interview will be counted.
Pay Scale
Candidates who will be appointed as Senior Personal Assistant (SPA) and Personal Assistant (PA) under the Delhi High Court will get the salary as per Level-8 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix and Level-7 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, respectively. The basic pay for SPA starts with ₹47,600, and the same for the PA begins with ₹44,900. In addition to basic pay, candidates will also get dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other benefits.
