RRB NTPC Recruitment 2026: 5,165 Vacancies, Eligibility, Selection Process & Salary

The Railway Recruitment Board will soon release the notification for the RRB NTPC Recruitment 2026 in September 2026 and invite candidates to submit an application form. They will release the Centralized Employment Notification in the very near future for a total number of 5,165 vacancies and then candidates who passed the intermediate examination and pursued graduation can apply. The total number of vacancies for the Non-Technical Popular Categories positions are 5,165 including 3,477 for graduate and 1,688 for undergraduate. The table given below carries the full breakdown of the position with reservation details.

RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria 2026

To apply for the RRB NTPC Recruitment 2026 for any graduate level position, it is mandatory for candidates to have pursued bachelor’s degree in any subject from a University Grant Commission recognised university; for undergraduate level position, the Class 12 with any stream from market state or central board recognised school is required.

Additionally, the age of the candidate shouldn’t be below 18 years. The upper age limit is 33 years for graduate level position, and 30 years for undergraduate level vacancies. Candidates who are above the upper age cap can claim the age relaxation of 3 years for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC and ST category candidates. For PwBD, there is an additional 10 year relaxation.

RRB NTPC Application Fee 2026

The application fee payment is mandatory to apply for the RRB NTPC Recruitment 2026, the payment amount for all female aspirants, minority communities, physically challenged aspirants, transgender, and male individuals who belong to EBC, SC, and ST are required to pay only 250 rupees, which will be refunded, if the candidate sit in first stage of selection process.

Male candidates who belong to UR, OBC and EWS are required to pay the amount of 500 rupees, these candidates will get a refund but half, to get the refund the same rule applies, participation in the first stage of selection process. To pay the application fee, candidates will have the option of debit card, credit card, NET banking and UPI. The deadline to deposit it is yet to be disclosed with CEN release.

RRB NTPC Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the NTPC position under the Indian Railways consists of three stages, which are computer-based test-1, computer-based test-2, and Typing Skill Test or Computer-Based Aptitude Test, depending on position. The date for either stage isn’t confirmed, but the exam pattern for CBT-1 and CBT-2 is made public, the same is shared inside the table available below.

The Railway Recruitment Board will prepare the final selection list for the RRB NTPC Recruitment 2026 based candidates’ performance in the second stage of selection process, computer-based test-2.

RRB NTPC Pay Scale 2026
