DGQA Technician Recruitment 2026: Apply Offline for 15 Group C Posts, No Application Fee

On July 15, 2026, the Directorate General of Quality Assurance, which comes under the Ministry of Defense’s Controllerate of Quality Assurance (Heavy Vehicles), released advertisement CQA(HV)/2026/Tech(SS) for the recruitment of Technician (Semi-Skilled), Group ‘C,’ against a total of 15 vacancies, including 11 for Fitter Auto, 3 for Electrician Mate, and 1 for Labourer. The category-wise breakdown for each position is shared below.

Out of total vacancies, 10 are for unreserved, 1 for Scheduled Caste, 2 for Scheduled Tribes, 1 for Economically Weaker Section, and 1 for ex-servicemen category candidates. 

Eligibility Criteria 

If you meet the eligibility requirements in terms of educational qualification and age limit, you can apply for the DGQA Technician Recruitment 2026. The post-wise educational qualifications are as follows:

  • Fitter Auto: ITI Trade Certificate in Automobile Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Mechanic, or Diesel Mechanic.
  • Electrician Mate: ITI Trade Certificate in Electrician 
  • Laborer: ITI Trade Certificate in any trade.

The age limit is 18 to 27 years for these positions. If you are above the age of 27 years and belong to any reserved category, you can claim the age relaxation, whose details are shared below:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • PwBD (UR): 10 years
  • PwBD (OBC): 13 years
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
  • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years

Application Fee

There’s no application fee to apply for the DGQA Technician Recruitment 2026; whether you are male or female and belong to any category, you can apply for the recruitment drive if you are eligible.

Selection Process 

The selection process for the DGQA Technician Recruitment 2026 includes a written examination, a trade test, document verification, and a medical examination. If you apply for this recruitment drive, firstly you have to participate in the written examination, which may take place in the last quarter of 2026.

They will conduct the written examination in offline mode using the OMR sheet, in which they will ask a total of 100 objective-type questions from four different subjects; you may check it by going through the table available below.

Each question carries a weightage of 1 mark, and there’s no provision for a negative marking scheme. The medium of this examination is set to be bilingual (English & Hindi) for all sections except the English Language & Comprehension section.

If you pass the written examination by getting a score equal to or above the cut-off marks, you have to participate in the Trade Test, which is qualifying in nature. If you qualify for it, you have last participated in the document verification and medical examination.

If you even qualify for the last two stages, you may be shortlisted for the appointment if your score in the written examination is equal to or above the cut-off marks for your category.

Application Form 

The Directorate General of Quality Assurance is accepting the application form for the DGQA Technician Recruitment 2026 in offline mode; you have a time of 20 days from the date of notification release to submit. If you want to apply, please follow the instructions given below. 

  • Download the application form and make a printout on A4-sized paper.
  • Fill in all the asked details with blue or black pen, and then attach photographs.
  • Arrange all required documents and make xeroxes and attach them to the application form by stapling.
  • Put the entire hard copy inside an envelope and write ‘” APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TECHNICIAN (SEMI-SKILLED), TRADE: ________, ESTABLISHMENT CODE: ________” on it with pen.
