Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age limit for the NCL Recruitment 2026 are as follows for each position.

Educational Qualification 

• Mining Sirdar (T&S Grade C): Matriculation with a valid Mining Sirdarship Certificate, Gas Testing Certificate, and First Aid Certificate; or a degree or diploma in mining engineering with a valid Overman Certificate, Gas Testing Certificate, and First Aid Certificate.
• Surveyor (Mining): Matriculation with a valid Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency; or degree or diploma in mining or mine surveying engineering with a valid Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency.

Age Limit 

• Minimum 18 years and maximum 30 years as of August 1, 2026.
• The age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC and ST category candidates. 
• There is an additional upper age relaxation of 10 years for candidates who belong to a person with a benchmark disability. 

Application Fee

Payment of the application fee is mandatory to apply for the Northern Coalfields Limited recruitment 2026. If you belong to the General, Other Backward Class, or Economically Weaker Section category, then you have to pay the application fee of ₹1,000 with 18% GST, meaning the total payable amount is ₹1,180. Selection Process

Exam Pattern

Northern Coalfield Limited will conduct the CBT across the country with a time duration of 1 hour 30 minutes, in which there will be a total number of 100 objective-type questions: 70 from General Knowledge, General Awareness, Reasoning, Verbal & Mental Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude, and 30 from Domain Knowledge.

Each question in this examination carries the weightage of one mark, and there is no provision for negative marking. The medium of examination is said to be English and Hindi. They have also released the minimum passing mark. It is 50% for UR and EWS and 40% for SC, ST & OBC.
