The Police Department, Government of Punjab, is conducting the computer-based test examination for the recruitment of constables within the department from July 1, 2026, which will be completed on the 30th of the month. This examination is taking place against a total number of 3,298 vacancies; after this, the next important event is the announcement of the result.
If you have already participated in this examination and are now waiting for the result, then you must know that after the conclusion of this examination, the department will start the response speed evaluation process. They are likely to take four weeks to complete it; once they have completed it within a week, the result may be announced online.
No date is officially confirmed for the result release, but we are expecting that it may take place in early September 2026. The will announce the result is a merit list on which you will find the roll numbers of qualified candidates. You will get to see your roll number only if your score in this examination will at least meet cut-off marks.
This examination is the first stage of the selection process; candidates who pass it are eligible to participate in the second stage, which is the physical measurement test and physical screening test. The cut off marks to pass this examination are all set to be different from one another for each category of candidate and gender.
The department will release the category wise cut off mark for the constable with the announcement of the result. They are most likely to be available on the result file. - Visit the official website of the police department, Government of Punjab at https://punjabpolice.gov.in/.
- Click on the recruitment option and then tap on the ‘Punjab Police Recruitment Portal 2026’ hyperlink.
- Select the ‘District & Armed Cadre Constables’ option.
- Find and tap on the ‘List of Candidates Provisionally Shortlisted for Stage-II (PST/PMT)’ hyperlink to download the qualified candidates merit list.
- Open the result file and search your Roll Number to check if you have passed this examination.
If you pass the first stage of the selection process for the recruitment of constables under the Punjab Department, you will be able to participate in the second stage that includes PMT and PST. There’s a high speculation that they will conduct it in the month of October 2026; however, the official dates are still unconfirmed for this stage.

Note that the physical test that the police department will conduct after this examination result is ‘qualifying’ in nature, meaning no mark will be allotted for this stage. The final selection list will be prepared based on the candidates’ performance in Paper 1 of the first stage of the selection process.
